hey hey cupcake...welcome!

Picture
hey hey cupcake owners, Courtney King and sister Gabriel Dash, both Swannanoa Valley natives, have more than a penchant for baking cupcakes in common. Both sisters have four beautiful children, an affinity for creating art, and enjoy combining local ingredients to build their masterpiece of choice-cake. Courtney attended culinary school at A-B Technical School and has been baking specialty cakes and culinary creations for years. Gabriel a former science, religion, and art teacher, graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Biology. The dynamic duo combined their artistic talents, culinary skills, and light-hearted charm in the opening of hey hey cupcake in May 2012.

Keeping their family close in mind, their dad’s choice is the 24- Karat Cake, which is a delicious traditional blend of freshly grated carrots topped with homemade cream cheese icing. Other cupcakes include fun-loving favorites such as: the Bonita Margarita (named after their other sister) which is a refreshing tropical blend of flavors with a hint of tequila and lime, the Mocha Stout that combines locally roasted Dynamite coffee and the organically brewed Pisgah Nitro Stout for a delicious dark chocolate delight. More traditional flavors include the Vanilla For-illa (vanilla cake and vanilla icing), Old School Birthday Cake (yellow cake with fudge icing and sprinkles on top), and a small twist on classics like their Fred Velvet, a slight variation to a red velvet, and Mount Mitchell Mound a chocolate lover’s dream which includes three different chocolates. hey hey cupcake also features a flavor of the week that coincides with the seasonal festivities or fresh fruits available. All flavors are available for birthday, wedding, and specialty cakes.

The sisters even have a gluten-free Tuesday, in which gluten-free cupcakes are available.
Stop in to support the local sisters, savor a cupcake, drink a cup of Dynamite Coffee, and enjoy!
